Duplicate content and how it affects you.

Duplicate content is obviously bad for your website or blog in the eyes of the search engines. However, there are many webmasters that make hundreds of pieces of duplicate content to affect their rankings with the search engines. In fact, there are some services that offer duplicate content in another form, like article submission services that submit to hundreds of article directories in a short time. What goes through your mind when you look at this? Could this seller have written hundreds of articles in a matter of hours? In doing this they have most likely only slightly changed the article, in my opinion; it is still called duplicate content.

The Big G, as the biggest search engine is certainly not so easy to be tricked. The Big G has a lot of experienced experts who can develop an algorithm to detect duplicate content.

The simple notion of duplicate content is a series of words in the articles content that is similar to the article content on another website or blog. The Big G has said that duplicate content has a negative effect on ranking a website or blog. Moreover, The Big G continues to modify and develop algorithms to guard against duplicate content showing up in their search results.

The main reason the search engines want to detect duplicate content is, they want to provide the best search results for Internet users. They want to display search results that are totally relevant and not duplicate content. Imagine if you are looking for something through a search engine and you only find content that is constantly repeated; this is very annoying of course, and of course you will no longer want to use that search engine.

Having mirrored sites is similar to having your website business on auto-destruct. There are two websites with exactly the same content; this is not liked by search engines, especially The Big G, read the rules that apply to Google webmaster tools. If you ignore these rules search engines will most likely only index one site. In the worst case, search engines will dump both sites, remove it from the SERPs, and then your page will never show up on the search results pages. This is a nightmare to webmasters.

Problem is that mirrored Sites are sometimes necessary. You can do this as long as you tell the search engines to ignore the mirrored site with a noindex tag, this is does not adversely affect the search engine results pages or your sites ranking.

To best way to improve your relationship with the search engines is to remove the duplicate content or rewrite the content for your website. Original content is a very important factor in increasing your rankings with the search engines. Duplicate content is not a quick way to increase your rank, experienced webmasters always say original Content is King.
